Episode # 339 Sue Stone

Natalie: Hi, I’m Natalie Ledwell and this is the Inspiration Show. Today, my special guest is coming to us all the way from the UK. I was actually over in London not long ago and have the great opportunity to have lunch with this amazing woman and got to hear her incredible, inspiring story and the awesome work that she’s doing over in the UK and around the world. So, please welcome my special guest Ms. Sue Stone. How are you, Sue?

Sue: Hi, Natalie. Lovely to be part of the show. Thank you so much for inviting me.

N: Yeah, great to see you again! So, why don’t we jump straight into your story because I think it’s a journey that a lot of women can relate to and I know that how you got through that is how you are empowering women and people around the world to stand up to the next level of their life. So, yes, tell us a little bit about your journey.

S: Oh, yes. Several years ago, life was desperate. I was full of fear, doubt. I was so unhappy and I forgot how it was like to be really happy. I was married for a number of years. I wasn’t happy in that. And then my husband and I split up and I remember the time having this belief once one thing go wrong in your life, a load of other things will follow on. Of course, I have no one to stand in at that time what a self-fulfilling prophecy it’s going to be, and it actually did. Things just went from bad to worse and I was so caught in the drama of life – yeah, if you were to describe it – but reacting to everything as it hit me and actually things went good and things went from bad to worse, I was robbing (1:58) to pay for, moving money to different accounts and it just escalated out of control. On top of all these, a year after I split up with my husband, I met another man, oh my god, it was sort of love at first sight sort of thing but it was the best, it was the worst, it was on, it was off, so half of the time I had a broken heart. And I just, seriously, escalated out of control and to the point where one day, I’d been getting credit cards to fund loans and loans to fund mortgages and everything was drying up and creditors were ringing me up, chasing me for money and as I’ve said one day, I realized I’ve maxed out every single account we’ve had – the cash, credit cards, the loans, the personal mortgage draft, the (2:54) draft and I still remember what I was wearing, where I was when I realized I couldn’t get my hands on a single penny. It was absolutely terrifying and we had enormous debt as well, and I realized, what money have I got on me? And literally just 10 pounds left in my purse, that’s about $15 or something and I have no idea where the next penny is going to come from and I thought, what am I going to do with this? I was so stressed, it was unbelievable. So I literally, I could laugh at it now, but I had to put 5 pounds worth of gas in the car. I had to get sausages and potatoes in my kids’ (3:44), they were young at that time. And I have to be honest, I was so embarrassed about it at that time but I had to make sure I have a few pounds left to buy myself a bottle of wine because that’s how bad it got. So, that was really the turning point for me and I thought, how on earth is my life come today? And I started reading self-help books and (4:09) thinking books and spiritual books and realizing that there is such a bigger picture going on in this world and with our universe, and I learned about the power of our thoughts and the universe and energy and all these stuff that you and I teach as so many other great people teach around the world but I have no idea (4:31), no idea what I realized what I was doing or my focus, my attention, all of the things that were part of my life, all the things that I didn’t want to happen and I spent most of my time visualizing, thinking about I’m not going to be able to feed my children, I’m not going to be able to pay the debt, I’m going to be (4:50), it got to the stage that I did actually have the bank trying to foreclose me, my home. Sadly my, well, my ex-husband at that time, unfortunately was very negative and just buried his head and really left me to deal with quite a lot. It was pretty horrendous, honestly. I have to be truthful about this and I think so many people can relate to that story. It’s not a great feeling.

N: Yeah, I know. How many of us can actually relate to the fact that you reached your lowest point? I know when you get to the point where you have no money coming in, you don’t know where the next dollar is coming from, like you said, you’re broken hearted, you’re just trying to survive. I know you were reading different books, tell me some of the books that you’ve read and the biggest lessons that you, that helped you to start, to get you out of this negative vortex of situation that you’re in and started to see things in a different light?

S: Well, it was. What was interesting was it wasn’t which book I read, I read Tony Robbins – unleash the power within or the way of the giants - Napoleon Hill’s (6:14) the rich. (6:15) but I also recommend spiritual books as well and obviously over the years I have continued to research and understand, explore the physics ties, powerful suns, spirituality or both, but I think whichever book I’m reading  the message was always the same, and I have to really take a look at myself and take responsibility for every thought I had, every feeling I had, every word I spoke. (6:57) that really helped me, my thoughts create my future. It is simple but all those years ago when I was so desperate, so  full of fear – oh my god, oh my god, I’m going to lose everything, stop myself and remember my thought creates my future and I literally took control of my thought and stuck it through stone and I would always imagine myself vanishing that thought, thinking, no, that’s not what I want. I’m so good in doing it all well badly, if you know what I mean, all these marvelous pictures in the kitchen, my home in full color and all the fear. It was literally a deliberate, conscious choice to work on myself. I realized that’s all the work I’ve been doing, a lot of people know this stuff, they read all the books, they go on the courses (7:48). They could get to a quiet (7:52). And I do think that it is the secret of the application of it. So in the course, we want to be good at anything, we got to practice in training. We’ve got to practice. When we all learn to drive a car, it’s hard to begin with and we consciously have to think of everything we do. When we mess it up and stall and get frustrated and things but because we know the freedom it’s going to give us, that’s the word isn’t it – freedom – the freedom that it gives when we pass our test, we keep practicing. We practice, practice, practice and of course, everyone that drives a car knows that you don’t have to think about looking at the mirror, you don’t have to think about indicating. In the UK, we’ve got quite a rigorous driving test, you know, to get approved. So we have to practice and then it gives us our freedom. And many people would realize that the more they practice, the easier it becomes. And of course in a while the behavior becomes learning and the subconscious takes over, then it becomes really quite easy. So that was the first thing, it’s taking absolute control of my thinking. And it is really a moment by moment when (9:11), and some people might do it in the morning and they visualize and they meditate and they goal-set and they write their goals down and then the rest of the day, they get caught up in the drama of the day. And of course, it’s that sort of drama that puts the energy that we’re giving out that’s what we’re creating. So that was a big one for me to really do it on a moment-by-moment awareness and take control. And the other thing that really, was probably one of my biggest breakthroughs was learning to live in the now and letting go of the past. We hang on to things that happen to us two weeks ago, three years ago when we can’t open our hair dryer – I can’t believe he did this, that she did that and we wind ourselves up again. Honestly, I’ve done it all. I’ve done it all perfectly and made myself so frustrated and angry and negative and I haven’t realized the impact that was happening, (10:17). Of course, what it does is disempower us in the course of our energy, what we are attracting into our lives and of course the Law of Attraction being a powerful law of the universe, then, it’s one that we, you know, this stuff is science, you know this better than anybody. This is not any (10:34) new age stuff, it’s science. And two things that are in vibrational resonance with each other at once together. If we want to feel happy, we’ve got to feel happy now. We want to be rich, we’ve got to feel rich now. I think that’s really, I just trained myself, focused on all the good in my life, however small it was at that time but really focused on that and felt love, and gratitude for the things and it’s amazing when you notice how that impact has on your life. Both living in the now and love life and live life as I would say.

N: Exactly. So, we know where you came from and what helped you to crawl out of that, so describe what your life is right now?

S: Well, as you know things have changed quite considerably for me. I made it my mission to work on myself and as I say, over the years it was so inviting for (11:36) the days and the months in the beginning, what I was focusing on was coming into my life. And it was that, oh my god, this is so exciting and then I learned not to limit my thinking and started daring to dream and big, big dreams and it has been incredible. I have this vision to and set up this foundation to help people around the world. I have created a very happy, successful life and so much so that I have done quite a bit of television now and here in the UK, I’ve been labeled as the most happiest and the positive person, which is quite a nice thing to happen. Features on TV’s Secret Millionaire, which I agreed to do, they approached me and said would I go and I felt like, well, for me, I felt I picked my Bob Proctor that I knew that I wanted to find people myself, that I would take control of that and make sure that I was the one who chose the people I was going to help and I met people that truly were (12:45). They were living on cardboard boxes on the street and always for me my fear was I was going to be homeless but I had it worse, it was all in my mind. And it really did put the whole meaning of (12:59) a new dimension. So that was tremendous and as I say, I just love what I do now. I deal with celebrities, everyday people, business people from all walks of life and I love it.

N: I know. It’s quite a meteoric rise isn’t it? Coming from not knowing where the next dollar is coming from to being dubbed as the most happiest person in the UK. (laughs) (overlaps with guest)

S: (overlapping with Natalie) it is. I forgot how it felt like to be happy. And I never thought I could ever feel like this again. It’s been, I’ve been like this for years now. I’ve been quite normal.
 

N: Who wants to be normal, seriously? It’s overrated. We’re running out of time. So, Sue I know that you’ve written books, you’ve got my programs and you know really your whole purpose and mission in life is to help people to get to the level that you have. N: What was the name of your book again, because I was kind of looking forward to it also?

S: My book’s called, love life, live life. And something I never thought I’d be able to do again. It’s simple, easy to read, practical manual on how I got this to work. I would love to share. If I could do it, anyone could do it. Believe me.

N: I think that’s the reason Sue and I connected so well. We both have the same kind of mind. We’ve gone through the process ourselves but we’re able to lay it out in a formula or in a way that’s really easy to understand and to follow. And of course, we both have that love of science and the explanation of how it works as well. So Sue, thank you so much for joining me. It’s been an absolute pleasure having you here on the show.
