Episode # 67 How to overcome fear and defeat it for good

Natalie : Hi I'm Natalie Ledwell and today I'm gonna address the subject to fear. How we fear and exactly how can we eliminate it from our lives. The fear of flying, the fear of falling in love, the fear of public speaking, the fear of phobia. We all create these fears in our lives that control the level of success that we can achieve. It's like the moment we experienced pain, we never wanna experience it again. So as a result we do things that we feel well in sure that we'll never ever get hurt again. In fact, we put it into avoiding pain than we do in gaining pleasure. Now in my observation many people preferred to play it safe and choose to be miserable over choosing to be happy. You know, do you know anyone who's settled for a job rather than a passion? Or settled for relationship that's not right for them? Or settled for anything and everything because they preferred play it safe? I know! It's crazy, isn't it? So how does fear become such an integrated part of our lives? Well if you've watched one of my previous shows, I've reviewing Don Miguel Ruiz's book, The Four Agreements; you remember how he talks about how 95% of the beliefs that we have in our minds are nothing but lies handed down misconceptions that were originating from fear so we suffer, we feel guilt and we judged ourselves, and others because of these lies. So we're setting on the back foot right from the very beginning doesn't help things as we get started then something happens, life happens, painful experience, someone makes fun with you while you're making your speech, the love of your life breaks up with you, businesses that you've tried is failed or you know you've been one of the most turbulent scariest plane ride that you've ever been on. You know that's all it takes. One heroine experience that you never wanna experience again. So you start to feel all those lower vibrational emotions. You know anxiety, nervousness, sadness, indifference; all emotions that come from fear that you want to avoid like the plague. So you start to play it safe. You avoid you know public speaking, you avoid relationships, you avoid plane trouble, or you avoid any kind of financial risks. But then one day, you look up and you know just playing it safe in one area of your life, but you're playing it safe in life in general. Now, of course it's easy for me to say this and logically explain where fear comes from. Now you may also logically know the origin of euphoria, but that doesn't matter. When you're in it and actually feeling it, that overwhelming feeling of fear, nothing that anyone says or nothing that anyone can do can convince you that your fear isn't real because for you, it is very very real. So if you know someone who's experience fear and error of their life, or you know maybe yourself, you've got fear on one specific area of your life, here are some things that you can do to overcome any fears that you may want to eradicate from your life to move forward to the next better version of yourself. So first of all, step one is to make the decision and set the intention that this fear will no longer play a role in your life, you're gonna declare to yourself that enough is enough. And you are vanishing this fear for good and it is no longer part of your reality. Okay now step number two, you wanna stop talking about this remove the words 'I'm afraid of flying' or 'I don't speak in public' or 'I'm not ready for a relationship', remove those words from your vocabulary and don't talk about your fear, don't get in conversations about it. The more you say it, the more it becomes your reality. The more you say it, the more Universe hears you and the more that it will give you. Now remember my story about the legendary Mister Liz Brown, he was diagnosed with cancer, now he refused to use the word cancer. He never put words into it and he didn't discuss on that often, he kept referring as the little c because he didn't wanna give it any power. So zip it, no more telling yourself that this is true for you and that you have this fear. Okay? So step number three, sit down and spend some time writing down the logical ways in your fear that are no longer part of your reality. So obviously you wanted to do this at the time when you know, you're not facing your fear. But do it when you know you're sort of relaxed and just think about the logical reasons why this fear really shouldn't be part of your reality. Did you know that annual risk of being killed on a plane crash for the average American is about one in eleven million? Write that down if you've got a fear of flying. You know things like you know if you can speak out particularly to small groups, you know you should be able to bigger groups. You know people fall in love every day and there's no reason why you can't be one of those people, you know especially when you're looking for business, failure is a normal part of success. There's not one person who is successful in his life had an easy road getting there, failure was always part of it. So write these logical things down on paper. Now the fourth step, with these new logical statements and then you become your new internal subconscious charter, the native become this new voice that talks to you. So you wanna focus on this list every day and visualize yourself with the motion doing these things successfully, you know facing these fears and being able to do these things without feeling any fear. You know focus on these positive informations that you've written down. You wanna feel the emotions of accomplishments and empowerment and relation as you see yourself in your mind's eye performing this thing. Okay now step number five, you know my friend Zena says that if you don't wanna stand there and face your fears, you need to step into your fears. So step five is to step into your reality. Always choose flying over driving, if flying is one of your fears. Except that speaking opportunity, go on that date, jump in to that new business, boots and all. Remembering that of course you're probably gonna make a mistake, everyone makes mistakes. The trick is just to dash yourself off and keep going. So I hope these five steps could really help you to think about a fear that maybe you have in your life that you could actually overcome now.
