Do you consider yourself to be a 'survivor'? No matter what life throws your way, are you confident in your ability to emerge stronger and smarter on the other side?
Growing up in a small country town in Australia, I know a little something about not only surviving, but thriving, in the toughest of conditions.
The Australian Outback is commonly known for its heavy bushlands, scorching deserts, and poisonous animals... it can quickly become a dangerous place, especially if you find yourself lost or stranded.
But at the same time, it's full of exciting adventures and natural wonders, that truly make it a one-of-a-kind place!
So even though it can be tough and full of challenges, when you tackle it head on with the right mindset, it's a fun and amazing experience... which, come to think of it, is a lot like life! :-)
In order to survive in the outback, and in life, you truly have to be mentally and physically prepared for what's ahead, or you'll quickly find yourself in some trouble.
So make sure you know these 4 important survival tips to make it (in the outback AND in life):
Survival Tip #1: Fuel your body & brain
In order to function at your highest potential, your brain and body need the right fuel. Two of the most important aspects of health are consuming enough water and eating nutritious food.
Water is the essence of life and without it, your health, happiness, and well-being will slowly be drained from you. So drink up!
Once you secure a water source, food is the second most precious resource. Healthy food can act as one of the most powerful sources of medicine & energy for both your mind and body - so make an effort to incorporate nutrition into your diet whenever you can.
Whether it's facing the toughest conditions in the outback or bouncing back from any challenge in life, these 2 essential tips will keep you on your feet with heaps of energy & strong immunity.
Survival Tip #2: Plan ahead & be prepared
One of the first lessons that you learn when traveling through the Australian Outback is the importance of planning ahead.
The same goes for any journey, and to succeed in life too, having a plan is vitally important. Mapping out your goals, aspirations, potential obstacles and possible solutions before you begin, will help keep you motivated and on track.
The next most essential ingredient for having a safe and enjoyable trip is preparation. Prepare yourself for success by investing time and energy into continually learning, growing and improving your life skills. This will ensure your readiness for all of the exciting adventures life has to offer.
Survival Tip #3: Be adaptive
Even when things are looking bright and beautiful, nature can turn on a dime. We have no control over the weather, and the same goes for our life.
There are several things that are outside of our control. But, how you choose to respond in those situations is what's really important.
There will be times when sudden challenges arise and you have to make decisions on the spot and learn as you go. Since there is no way to prepare yourself on how to explicitly deal with every possible life event that could possibly happen, you must always be aware of your surroundings and be ready to adapt.
Survival Tip #4: Know when to ask for help
Even if you have a guidebook and a map while you're in the outback, you can still get turned around or find yourself in potentially hazardous situations. And when the going gets tough, it's always helpful to have a professional guide to turn to, that can help you get unstuck and back on track.
In real life too, it's pretty common to find ourselves falling into traps, whether it's in our relationships, with our health, or in our finances (just to name a few)...
But, what's great is that there are people out there who have already mastered these situations, and are willing to cut the ropes for you and help you get free. One such person, is my friend and Money Coach Loral Langemeier.
