Meditation is one of the most important activities that I've incorporated into my daily routine. It helps me to clear my mind, create my future, and start the day with focus.
One of greatest benefits of meditating is that it can help you identify negative thought patterns and replace them with positive ones...
Now believe me when I say that your thoughts have a major impact on every aspect of your life!
In fact, growing research has shown that there are countless benefits of meditation. And as meditating grows in popularity, so do other healing techniques such as practicing mindfulness and working on your Chakras!
I've even blogged about the benefits of meditating, including how to meditate and about the myths surrounding meditation because I know some people aren't sure how to get started or perhaps wonder how well it really works.
Clearly, I'm a huge advocate of meditation and energy healing, but that's because it's made such a huge difference in my life and I want it to do the same for you :)
And today I want to show you how you can make meditation part of your daily routine (it's easier than you probably think) and learn to meditate. This is meditation 101 or meditation for beginners.
There are many types of meditation. So whether you regularly meditate already, have only tried it out, or this is all new to you, here's how to incorporate meditation into your day with these 5 simple steps:
Step 1 - Start simple.
Set aside just a few minutes of your time every day and commit to it! Even 5 or 10 minutes can make a big difference.
Step 2 - Choose the best time for you.
What works best for me is to meditate first thing in the morning because that's when I feel the least distracted and the most focused. I do it right after brushing my teeth because that's something I already do every morning, so it's linked to something that's already a habit and that's made it easier to incorporate into my daily routine.
I know others who like to meditate at night, but that tends to be more challenging for me because I'm tired and I often end up falling asleep. But everyone is different, so I encourage you to find what works best for you.
Step 3 - Find a comfortable spot where you can relax.
If you're planning to meditate in the morning, I would suggest you find a comfortable spot in your house. If you decide that you want to do it in the afternoon, let's say during lunchtime, use your office or a park that's close to your work. Just make sure this place is super easy for you to get to, so you'll be less likely to bail out.
Step 4 - Sit down and let go.
Sit comfortably, with your back straight. It's okay to lean on a sofa, against a pillow or a wall. I generally don't recommend lying down because as I said before, I'm more likely to fall asleep, but again, it's whatever works best for you :)
Step 5 - Enjoy the experience.
Don't try to concentrate too hard, rather let your attention rest and enjoy the experience. Relax and visualize images of love, peace, and gratefulness every time you inhale.
Focus on your breathing and if you lose track of it, just regain your awareness.
Remember that all you need to do is set aside a little time each day, and you'll be on your way to making meditation one of your most healthy habits.
Learning to properly heal your mind, body, and soul is imperative if you want to start looking and feeling your best. And since I want you to get results at lightning speed, I just have to let you in on my secret weapon...
