By now, you’re probably aware of how important having the right mindset is to attract more abundance, fulfillment, and happiness into your life.
Yet, did you know that according to the Law of Attraction pioneer Abraham Hicks, there is a very important factor that most people overlook and that’s equally important to manifest what you want?

But first, let me ask you… Do you know who Abraham Hicks is?
Esther Hicks and her late husband Jerry are known as two of the world's top Law of Attraction experts. She appeared in the first version of The Secret in 2006. She's helped millions of people over the past few decades through dozens of books and countless events.
But what's most fascinating about Esther Hicks is how she 'channels' a source of wisdom she claims is beyond her.
This source, she says, is a pure consciousness from a non-physical dimension. And it manifests in an entity she calls 'Abraham' Hicks.
And Abraham, channeled by Esther Hicks, says that one of the most important things to let the flow of abundance into our lives is to enter into a state of ‘receptivity’ or ‘receptive mode’.
Essentially, it is the state of feeling good and it’s an energy state which we can learn to tune into.
The more we focus on things and experiences that make us feel good, feel relaxed, help us enjoy life (just as it is right now), and feel grateful and blessed… the more opportunities for positive experiences will continue to flow in.
In other words, the more we focus on feeling the abundance that is already present in our lives, the more abundance will continue to show up.
Like attracts like, on the energetic level. This is the ‘Law of Attraction’.
And one very powerful way you can practice feeling good right now and align yourself with the energy of abundance is by practicing Segment Intending.
So What Is Segment Intending?
Segment intending is a form of manifestation that helps us be conscious about what we want to create by focusing on a particular segment of our life.
Abraham Hicks says “Segment intending is about being aware of yourself in your surroundings and what’s coming next. It’s a redefining by you of the intentions that you hold in this second.”
In other words, it is simply the process of resetting, and taking the time to set a clear intention for what you want to experience. Your intention is a powerful creative force, and when you couple that intention with an open vibration, you amplify the power of whatever action you are taking at that moment.
For example, let's say that you get in your car to drive to work, your intention for this segment could look like having a safe, free-flowing commute to work that’s enjoyable.
Then you get to work and you switch your intention to a different segment that may be to listen to the thoughts and ideas of your colleagues and to come up with an action plan that leads to a positive outcome.
Then you get home from work and now your intention could be simply to enjoy your food with your family and have a relaxing meal while bonding.
By setting intentions for each segment before we move into them, then we are better able to attract what we want instead of attracting by default.
Why is segment intending so powerful for manifestation?

It forces you to make the most of this moment and to align your thoughts with what you want (Conscious Awareness).

It allows you to create more powerful moments, in more moments of your day.

It helps you to focus your intentions on the ‘here and now’ and recognize that ‘here’ is where the power is.

Through deliberately intending, you are reaching for the thoughts and emotions that feel best and purposefully designing your day (segment by segment).
How can this help you manifest more happiness and abundance into your life?
As I mentioned before, the more we focus on things and experiences that make us feel good, the easier it will be to attract more abundance.
When you’re living on autopilot or simply surviving, it’s almost impossible to manifest more of what you want as you’re living in a state of lack and not in tune with a higher vibration.
Imagine having a bad day over and over again where one segment of your life keeps blending into the next and the negative emotions and negative energy of one segment seem to affect the next, and so on!
This is why I highly encourage you to create your intention for the day each morning.
From there, as you move through your day, define your intentions for each new segment of your day.
If something unexpected comes up, you can take a moment to take a few deep breaths, go for a walk, pet your dog, or do something to realign yourself with your intention.
