It's normal to have negative self-doubting thoughts from time to time. But if left unchecked, these thoughts can turn into bad habits that will create undesirable results in your life.
To help you cultivate a happier, more positive attitude each day, here are 4 tips to practice that will keep you in a higher vibration:
Scan for 3 Daily Positives
At the end of each day, make a list of three positive things that happened earlier that day and reflect on what caused them to happen. These "daily positives" as I call them could be anything - bumping into an old friend, a positive remark from someone at work or a pretty sunset are all great examples! Celebrating small wins also has a proven effect of powering motivation and igniting joy. When you make recording your daily positives a daily habit, you’ll begin to exude positivity yourself.
Give One "Shout Out" Each Day
I love this technique! As you begin to notice "daily positives" about the people around you, let them know about it! It takes just a few seconds to compliment a co-worker, family member or friend - or even a stranger on the street! When you do this, not only do you put a smile on their face, but you raise your vibration up to an even higher, more positive level.
Do Something Nice & Don't Get Caught
Bake a yummy snack and leave it in the lunch room at work, pay the car toll of the person behind you or leave flowers on a neighbor's front porch for no reason? Then run off before anyone gives you the credit for it! Random acts of kindness are one of the fastest ways to shift yourself into a happier, more positive vibration and - depending on what you choose to do - they can be incredibly FUN too!
Mind Your Mind
The regular practice of mindfulness meditation has actually been shown to affect the brain's plasticity, increasing gray matter in the hippocampus, an area of the brain important for learning, memory and emotion. Its also been shown to reduce gray matter in the amygdala, an area of the brain associated with stress and anxiety. So if you'd like to experience more contentment and happiness with the present moment, the question is: when is the last time you meditated? :)
