Spring Cleaning Your Brain: How To Vaporize Negative Energy In 3 Simple Steps

If I paid a surprise visit to your house today...

What would I find?

Would I be greeted by piles of clothes in the bedroom and dirty dishes in the sink?

Or would I find everything in its place and in perfect order?

It's surprising just how much the clutter in our lives reflects the clutter in our minds.

See, the way we hold onto stuff in our homes usually reflects the way we hold onto negative thoughts, beliefs and emotions.

And when you start seeing a mess both in your house and your mind?

That's when your life feels cluttered in more ways than one.

Your problems suffocate you.

And even your personal growth disappears under a growing pile of stress, worry and fear.

The good news is that the same way you can spring clean your home, it's also possible to declutter your mind of all negative charges.

Here are the 3 steps I always give my students to spring clean their minds of negative energy:

Step 1. Become aware of your thoughts, words and feelings.

The thoughts, feelings, and emotions you’ve been programmed with throughout the years have taught you valuable lessons.

In fact, many of them have helped you expand your consciousness and become the person you are today.

And so it's important to be constantly aware of your 'inner talk' so you can separate the good from the bad.

Emotional land mines like self-criticism, worrying about the past, or fear of an uncertain future are all just limiting beliefs that you’ve (unknowingly) adopted since you were a child.

But by acknowledging these thoughts, you can begin to take charge of your life.

However, becoming aware of your thoughts is not enough when your words are bringing you down.

For instance, I hear many of my students say, “I can’t afford this”… when what they should be saying is, “I’m choosing to invest my money in other things.” 

Choose your words wisely, and make sure they’re not coming from a place of lack, but rather from a place of abundance and positivity.

And before you dive into step 2… did you know your heart emits an electromagnetic pulse that’s 5 times more powerful than your mind?

Now that you know this, wouldn’t it make sense to check in with your heart everyday too?

To do this, just ask yourself daily questions like, “How am I feeling today?” or, “How can I bring more positive experiences into my life?” or, “Is there anything I need to let go of today?” 

You’ll be surprised how much easier and happier your life can be when you become more aware of your feelings. They’re important, so acknowledge them!

Step 2. Put it in writing.

After you’ve become aware of what’s going on inside your mind and heart, try diving a bit deeper to reach the source of negativity in your life.

You can ask questions like, “What is the feeling associated with this thought or belief?” Or “Why am I thinking this way?” 

And once you’ve got some answers, put them in writing.

Writing will not only help you get in a state of relaxation, but it will also help you remember what needs to be decluttered from your life, and allow you to assess its level of importance or priority.

Step 3. Execute your plan.

I am a firm believer that there’s nothing we can’t achieve when we set our minds to it, and this is especially true when we take responsibility for our actions.

Here are some tools and practices you can use to declutter your mind:

- Practice conscious breathing

- Organize your space

- Take a walk in nature

- Make a gratitude list

- Visualize

- Exercise

- Delegate tasks to others

- Make a list of things you need to get done
