5 Areas Of Life Successful People Prioritize Most

"What does it really take to become successful?"

Ask 10 successful people this question and you'll likely get 10 different answers.

Every successful person has their own perspective on how they achieved it… which can make it tricky for those of us who aren't successful yet to know what to focus on.

But successful people are human too, with their own biases and blind spots.

And so rather than focusing on what they say, what would happen if we paid closer attention to what they do?

Over the past few years, I've been working with my friend and colleague Sabrina Truscott (leader of our Abundant Entrepreneur movement) on mapping out a unifying theory of success…

A 'roadmap' that anyone can follow to consistently, reliably and smoothly achieve success… no matter what situation they're in, what's holding them back, or what success actually means to them.

Sabrina and I have personally used this roadmap to launch multiple 7-figure businesses and transition to a life of abundance and contribution - which is what success means to us.

We call it the 5 Roots of Success.

And in short, it's about being mindful of 5 specific areas in life that play the biggest role in determining one's success.

Here they are:

If you don’t pursue your purpose (or even know what it is), you might feel like something’s missing in your life – regardless of how much money you make or what you achieve.

I believe each of us were born with the mission to find or create our unique purpose in life, and to pursue it.

If you're lucky, that purpose comes to you - but more often than not, you have to search for it.

Success means having your cup full in every possible way.

Unlike purpose, passion doesn’t necessarily hold a deep meaning. Instead, it fills you with joy, fueling every step of your journey towards your most successful life.

You don’t need to build your life around your passion, nor do you have to quit your job for it (although you absolutely can if you want to!) - what’s important is you hold space for it.

Similar to purpose, people who don’t explore their passions often feel a sense of emptiness and unfulfilled potential.

We were put on this planet to PLAY!

So the question is, are you playing enough?

I'm sure you've heard the idea that you are the sum of the five people you surround yourself with. And in my experience, this couldn't be more true.

Meaning who you spend time with is who you become!

Do your friends and peers lift you up?

Do they help you be a better person?

This is independent of feeling good – in fact, in the beginning, sometimes surrounding yourself with the right people can be stressful as you’re still trying to align with their vibrations.

You can completely change your life by surrounding yourselves with people who have the same high values, goals, and inspirations as yours.

To some people, the accumulation of prosperity (a.k.a. wealth, abundance, or money) is the very objective of success.

To others, it's simply a catalyst to help you do, see, experience, create and contribute to the things you want in this life.

And despite what anyone says, prosperity is not a function of how smart you are, how rich your family is, or how lucky you are.

It's simply a function of your beliefs, habits, thoughts and emotions.

That's why studies show that lottery winners usually end up broke within months of winning, while billionaires can go bankrupt and then bounce back over and over again.

Successful people spend the time to tune their minds to the frequency of prosperity, so at the very least they don't have to worry about not having it.

Have you ever noticed that successful people tend to have a healthy relationship with their careers?

A passion or purpose-driven career makes you jump out of bed every morning.

You don't struggle to juggle your career with other aspects of your life, because everything is in flow and alignment.

And for many successful people, their purpose and their passions are woven right into their work.

That's how people like Sir Richard Branson, Oprah Winfrey and Elon Musk have the energy, stamina and clarity to launch so many successful businesses and movements; it's because they're genuinely passionate and in love with what they do.

So if you want to be successful, remember to take an honest look at not just how much you earn in your profession, but how it makes you feel.
